Περίληψη:The three hourly standard meteorological data measured at Venice for the period 1961-1995 have been analysed in order to gather information about the impact of climate on monument decay. As the frequency distribution is preferable to average values, the air temperature and relative humidity data have been processed as follows: (i) the range of variability of each parameter has been divided into classes, each having unit steps, and then the population of each class has been counted up; (ii) the data have been ordered and then the percentile distribution has been calculated. Comparing these distributions with the model calculations of the lowering of the freezing point for the curvature effect of ice surface into pores, or the lowering of the critical relative humidity for condensation into micropores for the curvature of the water meniscus, the freezing-thawing cycles and the condensation-evaporation cycles have been computed for each month. In addition, also the effect of sea spray has been calculated to evaluate the number of the freezing-thawing cycles on the surfaces or in the macropores contaminated by NaCI. Finally, the wind roses as well as the drizzle, rain, shower, hail, snow and fog roses have been calculated in order to determine which exposures of the vertical surfaces are wetted or washed out by meteoric water. Finally the relevance of each of these meteorological variables has been evaluated. (AU)
